Introduction to Finding Funders (Stark County)
Finding a good donor “fit” for your organization’s funding opportunities will significantly improve your success rate. This workshop explores online research tools, such as Foundation Directory Online Professional, which help you identify foundations and corporations that support programs and organizations like yours.

Proposal writing is easier than you may think. The fundamentals of proposal writing, including budget preparation, as part of a basic grant proposal will be covered in this workshop. Geared to the novice grantseeker, this program discusses the key components of a proposal to a foundation, the kinds of expenses covered under “personnel”, and how to determine a request amount that is neither too high nor too low in relation to what you expect to accomplish.

Philanthropy 2020: The Next Generation of Giving
Armed with new ideas, priorities, and expectations, Gen X and Y professionals are changing the face of philanthropy as they move into leadership positions at foundations and corporations.

This half-day conference will provide you with insights and practical tools to understand how generational change will influence philanthropy over the next decade and how it will impact your nonprofit.

Objectives
Attendees will:
• Hear directly from local grantmakers on how their community investments are likely to change over the next decade as Gen X and Y professionals move into leadership positions.

• Better understand how generational change will impact donors’ priorities and expectations and what nonprofit leaders can do to stay on the radar.

• Learn strategies for nurturing relationships across generations within a family.

The 2010 generational change conference is presented by the Center for Nonprofit Excellence and made possible in part by a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Program support for the panel discussion is provided by the Ohio Grantmakers Forum.
